Keeping It Cool in a Las Vegas Casino
Las Vegas has earned the reputation of “Sin City,” and in this debauchery pit, things that happen here are supposed to stay here. But that doesn’t mean you should lose your cool, especially while gambling. There are two things that you can be sure of when you enter a Las Vegas casino. First, you will be offered free drinks if you play anything over a 25 cent minimum slot. Second, you will lose at something. Don’t be surprised, and don’t let it upset you too much.
Firewater
Alcohol can be your friend and your foe in a Las Vegas casino. On the one hand, it helps loosen you up and helps to you have a good time. Or, if you aren’t a drinker, you can watch those around you be loosened up, and enjoy the entertainment. Alcohol becomes a problem when it causes you to act in ways that are not in your best interest. You may begin to make poor gambling decisions or start betting uncontrollably. Don’t forget, casinos give you free drinks for a reason! They want to liberalize your fingers so that you will lose control, and feed their own wallets just a little bit more. Start your gambling adventure with a promise to yourself of your drink limit, and stick to it. Taking a break and eating will also help reduce your level of intoxication—to a point.
Losing Your Shirt
Chances are great that you will lose at least one bet while you are in Las Vegas. In fact, you are more likely to lose than you are to win in most casino games. The last thing you want to do is make a stink with the dealers. The first think that will make the dealers mad is any attempt at cheating. Regardless of how many times you have lost or how slick you think you can be, cheating will get you kicked out of casinos in all of Nevada. Also, avoid shouting matches with other players. Fighting is one sure bet that you will be removed from the casino. Becoming upset and irritated will only enhance your chances of losing even more money. |
